With Seahawks facing 49ers, Rams face extra pressure to win in Week 12
By Dan Parzych
With the Seattle Seahawks having a favorable matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, the Los Angeles Rams can’t afford to lose in Week 12.
Losing to the Minnesota Vikings the way they did last weekend was a crushing blow for the Los Angeles Rams, mainly because it was the perfect opportunity to earn a win from a top playoff contender in the NFC. But as disappointing as the outcome of that game was, at least Sean McVay and company will have a chance for redemption in Week 12 against another serious contender in the conference, the New Orleans Saints.

Thanks to an improved defense, the Saints have worked their way to becoming one of the hottest teams in the NFL at the moment riding an eight-game winning streak heading into Sunday’s game against the Rams. And even though Los Angeles would seem to have a slight edge for being able to play at home, this meeting against New Orleans isn’t going to be any walk in the park.
Then again, it will be interesting to see if the Rams’ offense can take advantage of a banged-up Saints’ defense playing without key stars in Marshon Lattimore and Ken Crawley on Sunday. Because when taking into consideration just how close Seattle is keeping it in the race for the NFC West title, the last thing Los Angeles wants to see happen is a second loss in a row that potentially drops them to second place in the division standings.
Next: 3 predictions for Rams vs. Saints Week 12
Despite suffering a tough loss at home last week against the Atlanta Falcons, the Seahawks will be looking for a strong bounce back performance on Sunday against a 49ers team that has only recorded one win so far in 2017. And even though San Francisco was able to keep it close the first time around when they only lost 12-9 against Seattle, the circumstances are much different now since the Seahawks have an opportunity to move back into first place with a loss by the Rams to the Saints. So when taking all of this into consideration, let’s hope for the sake of Los Angeles they play a lot better on offense than last Sunday against Minnesota, or it’s going to be a tough next couple of days since that most likely will mean Seattle will be back in first place.
