After a big win against the New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff may also have reignited MVP talk.
The Los Angeles Rams needed a big game yesterday, and they got it. Quarterback Jared Goff needed the same, and he got that too. Timing can be everything, and Week 12 in Los Angeles came in the right place, and at the right time.
Goff went out yesterday and was absolutely brilliant. The Rams needed him to be “the man” and he delivered. The second year quarterback played like a veteran, going 28 of 43, for 354 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also outdueled his counterpart, New Orleans Saints quarterback and future Hall Of Famer Drew Brees.
Like I said-right place, right time.
A week after laying an egg in Minnesota, Goff answered the bell big time, begging the question whether he is back in that NFL MVP talk. If yesterday is an indicator of what the Rams can expect in a big, must-win game from their quarterback, than maybe MVP talk isn’t completely illogical.
He’ll also need to do it again.
And again, and again.

The Rams are now squarely in the cross-hairs of a tough five game stretch that has them playing ALL their NFC West counterparts over the next five weeks. Goff will also lead Los Angeles in games against the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale, the Philadelphia Eagles at home, and Seattle on the road over the next three weeks.
Three wins may put him squarely into that discussion. It’s also three wins they will need.
After a decade of lousy football, the Los Angeles Rams are on the precipice of the postseason. They don’t get there without Jared Goff playing like the top overall pick Los Angeles drafted him to be.
That kind of play may eventually lead him to an MVP award this season, or in the very near future.
