3 predictions for Rams at Cardinals in Week 13
By Steve Rivera
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff continues to defy the critics, me included. I don’t mind saying that I’ve waited for a step-back from the sophomore QB, but he hasn’t, and that’s to his credit and that of first year head coach Sean McVay.
He’ll keep it up against the Cardinals.
Against the Saints, Goff turned in an efficient and telling performance, going 28-43, for 354 yards and two touchdowns. THAT, after a pedestrian performance against the Vikings that was neither good nor bad, as much as it was not distinguishable.
The best thing about this still young Rams quarterback is his continued and tangible improvement. He’s avoided the pendulum swings that makes it hard to know whether he’s actually getting better or worse. Goff has shown an ability to adjust, and avoid the dreaded “sophomore slump” that can hijack many a career.
Again, that’s to his credit.
Week 13 is one of those games where he can add to what may be an MVP season, or at the very least, continue to offer a compelling argument.
Goff will be head and shoulders the better quarterback on the field against the Cardinals. Last week, against a sure fire Hall Of Famer in Saints quarterback Drew Brees, he may not have been given the veterans credentials, but he sure played like it.
He will this week also. Look for big numbers, avoiding the costly turnovers, and a game that keeps his name in the MVP mix.
