After a solid game against the New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams quarterback needs to continue using Josh Reynolds in the passing game.

Losing Robert Woods for a few weeks with a shoulder injury was a devastating blow when seeing how the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver was beginning to heat up, but the good news is Sean McVay still had plenty of other weapons willing to step up as reliable targets for Jared Goff in the passing game. And while certainly players like Sammy Watkins and Cooper Kupp certainly came through in Week 12 when facing the New Orleans Saints, one of the biggest surprises ended up being rookie Josh Reynolds, who previously had one catch for 28 yards to date prior to Sunday’s game.

As much excitement as there was surrounding the former Texas A&M star when Los Angeles used a fourth-round pick on the wideout back in April’s NFL Draft, Reynolds has been in a tough position during his first season in the league due to all of the talent ahead of him on the depth chart. But with Woods dealing with that shoulder injury along with Tavon Austin being used more in the ground game, Sunday’s game against the Saints was the perfect opportunity for Reynolds to finally show off his skills on offense for the Rams, and the rookie certainly didn’t disappoint.

Not only did Reynolds catch four of six passes for 37 yards, but one of those catches happened to go for a seven-yard touchdown in the second quarter to help Los Angeles increase their lead to 10 points. Even if this was only one game, this was the kind of performance Reynolds needed to provide the necessary confidence to hopefully continue being a reliable target for Goff moving forward, especially in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals.

At the moment, the Rams currently hold a one-game lead over the Seattle Seahawks in the race for the NFC West title, but a lot could change over these final few weeks, meaning every game is extremely important. Numerous players will need to continue stepping up in the passing game as long as Woods remains on the sidelines, and it will be interesting to see if Reynolds picks up right where he left off to continue proving he was worth selecting back in April.
