3. Injuries at cornerback

Early on in the offseason, the Rams seemed to have a pretty good idea that keeping Trumaine Johnson around for another year would be too expensive, which is why they wasted little time addressing the situation by bringing Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib on board. All of a sudden, Los Angeles had an exciting new duo to work with at cornerback, and if the first couple of games were any indication, the defense would be in great shape for years to come.

Unfortunately, the Rams took an unexpected step back last weekend when both Peters and Talib exited the game with injuries that could keep them out for an extended period of time. So with Peters and Talib out, Los Angeles will rely on other cornerbacks like Troy Hill and Sam Shields to step up in the mean time.

Minnesota is loaded with talent at the receiver position since Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen tend to cause all sorts of problems for opposing defenders, meaning players like Hill and Shields will have their hands full. Sadly, the Rams made sure to be loaded with depth at cornerback for this exact reason, and it will be interesting to see how this all plays out come Thursday.
