Perhaps the biggest concern to roar from a two game losing skid is the injury to Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley. His lack of consistent availability has shone a bright hot light on some flaws and liabilities in the once mighty McVay offense.

The bottom line is that without Gurley, you have an offense with no rudder.

He is the Rams offense, plain and simple.

He’s also shown to be why Jared Goff has enjoyed the success he’s had over these last two seasons. As Goff has descended back to earth, we’ve also seen a stunning lack of depth that is more bad luck than anything else. Injuries have decimated the running back position in LA, and the hope is with the addition of C.J. Anderson, the Rams can find enough running success and also buy some time for Gurley to rest.

McVay is in some desperate need of help to bolster his offense. Games against two pretty beatable teams, beginning this Sunday in Glendale, may provide the relief he and his team sorely needs.

Indeed, Week 16 at the Arizona Cardinals is timely for some good things to happen to a Rams offense who’s experienced a significant dose of bad this December.
