3 reasons Rams should use C.J. Anderson just as much as Todd Gurley when facing Cowboys

2. Less pressure on Goff

Around this time last year, there were high expectations surrounding the Rams being able to make a serious run at the Super Bowl when seeing how they had one of the top teams in the NFC, especially on offense.

Unfortunately, the inexperience factor came into play for Los Angeles as it became clear that guys like Jared Goff and Gurley weren’t as prepared as they could have been, but that shouldn’t be the case this time.

Now that Goff knows what it feels like to play in a meaningful game like the playoffs, the Rams hope to see a completely different quarterback than last January that struggled to come through against the Atlanta Falcons.

Back in December, there were times in which Goff wasn’t playing some of his best football, but after ending the regular season on a high note with a four-touchdown performance against the 49ers, the Rams hope to see a similar performance when taking on the Cowboys.

While Goff was already fortunate enough to have a trio of reliable receivers to work with led by Brandin Cooks, the fact that he also now has Anderson to rely on along with Gurley should make a huge difference on offense as well.

If all goes well using Gurley and Anderson in the ground game, maybe Goff won’t have to rely on moving the football down field as much through the air.
