3. Anderson quickly learning offense during final two games

Whether they want to admit it or not, there were some Rams fans upset over the decision by the team to sign Anderson when Gurley’s status was uncertain, mainly because they preferred to see John Kelly receive a heavier workload.

More from Ramblin' Fan

Back in the preseason, the rookie running back was one of the biggest surprises for the team on offense, and it seemed like he would end up receiving more action than originally expected in his first NFL season, which hasn’t exactly been the case.

Seeing how most of Kelly’s production from his rookie season came during the final two games (25 of 27 carries) when Gurley was out, chances are the former Tennessee will see an increased workload down the road now that he’s got some experience.

As for Anderson, well let’s just say Rams fans quickly learned that signing the veteran to handle the starting duties at running back over Kelly turned out to be the best decision the team could have made.

By proving he is capable of handling a heavy workload after rushing 43 times during those final two regular season games for 299 yards with two scores, it’s kind of amazing to see how quickly Anderson learned this new offense after joining the Rams.

Thanks to being more comfortable, Anderson will hopefully carry the momentum over into the playoffs for when it matters the most, and could benefit even more now that he can split the duties with Gurley.
