When looking back at December, the Los Angeles Rams clearly weren’t the team fans had grown accustomed to. When running back Todd Gurley grew less effective due to knee inflammation, it showed as the offense slowed, and quarterback Jared Goff struggled.

Enter C.J. Anderson and then some needed rest for Gurley.

Against the Cowboys, all seemed right for life in Rams Country. Both running back rushed for over 100 yards, scored touchdowns, and made Goff a quarterback who had his security blanket back times two.

The best thing to happen to Los Angeles was Anderson. I timing is everything, then Anderson becoming part of the Rams running back depth chart was another in a list of things that have worked for the Rams beginning with the hiring of McVay.

Against the Cowboys, Gurley would rush for 115 yards on 16 carries, while Anderson would carry the ball 23 times for 123 yards. They’d combine for three touchdowns and all but insure Dallas would be relegated to the role of “comeback.”

If the one-two punch of Anderson and Gurley can maintain the clip they established last night, the Rams road to Atlanta May have become a bit easier and Goff’s job 100 percent easier.
