6. Taking a chance on Woods

As mentioned before, Los Angeles entered the 2017 offseason with the intention of bringing help on board for Goff in the receiving department, which they did early on in free agency with Woods.

However, there were some fans upset over the move at the time since after watching the beginning of his career as a member of the Buffalo Bills, Woods didn’t seem like a strong candidate to be a No. 1 wide receiver.

In defense of Woods, the wideout didn’t exactly have the best quarterbacks to work with during his time with the Bills, and if there’s anything from the last two years to take away, it would be his chemistry with Goff is just what the Rams were hoping to see.

While his first season in Los Angeles was impressive, the career numbers Woods put together in 2018 (86 catches for 1,219 yards with six touchdowns) shows the team made the right choice.

The fact that Woods finally crossed the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career shows joining McVay’s squad was the best decision he ever could have made. And if the Rams end up defeating the Patriots in the Super Bowl, it will make that decision even better.
