3 reasons Josh Reynolds could be surprise MVP candidate for Rams in Super Bowl 53

3. Reynolds has proven he can handle the pressure
As mentioned before, the loss of Kupp to a torn ACL was a crushing blow for the Rams after watching how reliable he’s been since his rookie campaign as a reliable No. 3 option in the passing game.

In fact, Kupp was always viewed as one of those young receivers who played more like a veteran, and while it was tough for Los Angeles to lose him when they did, Reynolds certainly deserves credit for stepping up his game.
Deep down, Reynolds knew it was going to be difficult to top the production of Kupp, otherwise he would be the one receiving most of the snaps on offense as the No. 3 wide receiver. But after watching how effective Reynolds was towards the end of October when he filled in for Kupp against the Green Bay Packers, and found the end zone twice, the Rams knew he could be counted on.
Even during the regular-season finale against the San Francisco 49ers when the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture was still up for grabs, it was Reynolds who came up big once again by catching four passes for 55 yards with two touchdowns.
After only catching one pass for 19 yards in the Divisional Round during a win over the Dallas Cowboys, Reynolds bounced back strong in the NFC Championship with four catches for 74 yards to go along with a key 16-yard run.
By proving on numerous occasions to be capable of handling the pressure of filling in for Kupp, Reynolds should be able to do the same during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
