Antone Exum

Without question, 2018 was the best season of Antone Exum‘s NFL career after watching the safety start seven of 15 games appeared in for the 49ers, and even managed to record the first interception of his professional career, which happened to be returned for a touchdown.

San Francisco signing Exum to a one-year deal for a little over $700,000 shows how much of a steal this looked like, although the next team to sign him will most likely have to open up their checkbook a little more.

By showing the rest of the league just how much potential he has, it will be interesting to see how things play out for Exum once free agency does get underway next March. And if the Rams ended up deciding to give the Virginia Tech product a look, this could give Phillips another fun project to work with, especially if Joyner is no longer around.

Things haven’t always been smooth for Exum since joining the league back in 2014, but at least this past season went well enough where he’s ready to show a team he can be the depth they’re looking for at safety, whether it ends up being the Rams or simply another team.
