30. Green Bay Packers: Mack Wilson, Linebacker, Alabama

Thanks to an easy trade completed with the New Orleans Saints last season, the Green Bay Packers are fortunate enough to have two picks in the first round of this year’s draft, making it only seem fair they use one pick for each side of the football.

Earlier on in this mock draft, the Packers seemed to be taking the safe approach by selecting Noah Fant to help fill a need at tight end since Jimmy Graham isn’t getting any younger, and if they decide to focus on linebacker at No. 30, this seems like a solid way to go as well.

Alabama defensive players going in the first round has become quite common in NFL Drafts over the years since as mentioned a few times already, Nick Saban always produces some of the best professional players.

Does this mean Mack Wilson has what it takes to soon be added to this list of former great Crimson Tide succeeding in the NFL? Wilson obviously still has a lot to prove since the NFL is a completely different level from college, but don’t be surprised if the linebacker turns out to be one of the most underrated players at his position if he can improve certain areas such as consistency.
