1. Mike Pennel

Players with their options declined seems to be a popular trend on this list, which the Rams certainly won’t be complaining about if it help them land a player who helps fill one of their needs.

Without question, 2017 was the best season of Mike Pennel‘s career, and played a key factor in the decision by the team to reward him with a three-year deal last March.

Once again, Pennel is the perfect example of just because things seem great on year doesn’t mean it’s going to last after the team decided in the middle of February to decline the option for the final two years of his contract.

For a player who will only be 28 by the start of next season, Pennel looks like one of those players with plenty of gas left in the old tank, and could benefit from playing on a better team like the Rams, who are expected to be a serious Super Bowl contender in 2019 once again.

The chances of Pennel earning a starting job over some of the current members of Los Angeles sounds like a long shot at this point, but as long as he would be able to contribute whenever on the football field, this is all Los Angeles would truly care about.
