3. Peyton Barber

From a realistic perspective, the chances of the Rams going after Peyton Barber seem unlikely at the moment since the preference for the team seems to be focused on bringing C.J. Anderson back after his surprise impact towards the end of last season and playoffs.

Even if Sean McVay had to re-work his stratedgy on offense to provide Todd Gurley with fewer carries, a solid one-two punch at running back with Anderson could work wonders for Los Angeles on offense during the 2019 season.

With that being said, the one tough thing about bringing Anderson back is his impressive play over the final two months caught the attention of numerous teams across the league with needs at running back as well.

In other words, if Los Angeles misses out on the veteran running back to another team, they may look to free agency to explore potential replacements.

Looking at Peyton Barber, the former undrafted free agent took a major step in 2018 by starting all 16 games for the Buccaneers while rushing for 871 yards and five touchdowns in the process.

Taking on a backup role on a team like the Rams obviously wouldn’t seem like a preference for a young running back like Barber, but if it put him in a better position to earn a Super Bowl ring, this move seems worth the consideration.
