5 defensive options still available for Los Angeles Rams to consider in 2019

4. Justin Houston
First off, let the record show that if Justin Houston didn’t seem like so much of a long shot to sign since his asking price would most likely be way too high, the linebacker would most likely be higher on this list.

Then again, when has long-shot scenarios ever stopped the Rams from bringing someone on board before?
One can only imagine how difficult it was for a team like the Kansas City Chiefs to move on from Houston since he’s arguably one of the top linebackers in the NFL with 18.5 sacks over the last two seasons.
Not to mention, there was a span a few years back in which Houston earned four trips in a row to the Pro Bowl, one of which consisted of a 2014 season where he recorded 22 sacks.
Unfortunately, the chances of Houston still putting up those kind of numbers at this stage in his career may be a stretch, but his production alone from the previous two seasons shows there’s plenty of gas left in the old tank.
Plus, one of the factors that would benefit Los Angeles the most is the motivation to help make a run at the Super Bowl after Houston’s dreams came up just short last season when Kansas City lost in the AFC Championship.
