5. Jeffery Simmons

One can only imagine how different things would be in projection wise for Jeffery Simmons if the defensive tackle didn’t suffer a torn ACL this winter during a workout, but also teams will look at the long-term potential surrounding the Mississippi State star.

More from Ramblin' Fan

With the kind of power Simmons possesses, it’s only a matter of time before he’s making an impact on the defensive side of the football in the NFL, whether it happens to be with the Rams or another team.

Quickness may be one of the weaknesses that Simmons will need to work on once he’s fully healthy, and ready to go in the NFL, but also it’s quite common for rookies to come in looking to improve in certain areas.

Most importantly, the decision Los Angeles would need to make in regards to Simmons if the interest is there would be whether it would be worth playing the patient game by knowing this selection would result in a little extra waiting.

Of course, if Simmons does return to full strength, and picks up where he left off, this could be worth the risk for the Rams if the interest is there, and they decide to focus on defense in the first round.
