2. Deion Jones

Around this time last year, there was some uncertainty surrounding the linebacker position for the Rams since the defense didn’t really know what to expect.

Turns out, Los Angeles ended up in better position by season’s end since they not only acquired Dante Fowler Jr. before the deadline before agreeing to a one-year deal with the former first-round pick this offseason, but also Cory Littleton ended up making a surprise impact.

With both players looking to build off last season’s success on top of signing Clay Matthews in free agency, the Rams are in much better position this time around, although similar to cornerback, there is some uncertainty beyond the 2019 season.

After using a second-round pick on Deion Jones back in 2016, the linebacker has arguably been one of the most underrated members of the Falcons’ defense, and it’s tough not to wonder how different things could have been last season if he didn’t suffer that foot injury early on.

Numerous factors came into play behind Atlanta only finishing with seven wins, but maybe if Jones wasn’t limited to just six games, the Falcons could have earned a few extra wins since the defense would have been in better shape.
