3. Blake Martinez

Looking at the rest of the competition in the NFC North, the Packers will certainly have their hands full on defense once again during the 2019 season when looking at some of the offenses within the division.

With this in mind, it seems unlikely that Green Bay would consider moving on from Blake Martinez since the linebacker has been a key member of the defense over the last three seasons, although Los Angeles could have an advantage with him entering the final year of his contract.

For a player who hasn’t missed a start for the Packers over the last two seasons, it’s safe to assume that Martinez will be looking for a hefty pay raise with his next contract, and Green Bay may need to decide just how much they would be willing to offer.

Time and time again, teams will take the approach of trading a player before their contract expires since it’s always better to receive a draft pick or player in return over the risk of losing them in free agency.

Of course, this scenario all comes down to whether the Packers would be willing to make Martinez a future offer, but if they would feel comfortable moving on in a trade to give someone like Ty Summers a chance to compete for a starting role, this could be good for the Rams.
