2. Abry Jones

Around this time last year, there was plenty of excitement surrounding the Rams on defense as a result of the new duo consisting of Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh.

More from Ramblin' Fan

While Donald has quickly worked his way into becoming one of the league’s top defensive players, the presence of Suh with his intense ways was expected to take the defense to new levels.

Certainly, there were numerous occasions in which this duo worked wonders for the Rams on defense, but as far as bringing Suh back for a second season, Los Angeles made the right decision by letting the veteran walk in free agency.

From a financial perspective, the cost to bring Suh back was simply going to be too much for the Rams, and while the defense should see players like Tanzel Smart step up to help fill the void, it never hurts to add some extra help just in case.

Even though Abry Jones only has 32 starts to his name with the Jaguars since 2013, the argument can be made he’s been one of the most underrated members on defense.

Jones isn’t going to make the kind of impact that Suh made for obvious reasons, but at least an addition like this could provide some needed depth to the defensive line.
