3. Defense keeps Saints out of end zone

As mentioned before, the outcome from Sunday’s game most likely would have been much different if Brees didn’t suffer that devastating hand injury, but also this shouldn’t take away from the impressive play from the Rams’ defense.

More from Ramblin' Fan

Even though Teddy Bridgewater is nowhere near the same level as Brees impact wise, the Saints quarterback still had plenty of great weapons to work with on offense.

Most quarterbacks would do anything to be part of an offense consisting of Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas, as these two offensive stars tend to be absolute nightmares for opponents each time they step foot on the field.

While Kamara was limited to just one catch for 15 yards to go along with 45 rushing yards, Thomas did catch 10 passes, but they only went for 89 yards.

When looking at how these two players looked at times in the two meetings last year when facing Los Angeles, the defense should consider keeping both Kamara and Thomas out of the end zone as a huge win.

Once again, this may have been different if Brees didn’t suffer that hand injury, but also the Rams deserve plenty of credit for how they looked on the defensive side of the football.
