2. Gurley still seeing limited carries

For the second week in a row, fantasy football owners were thrilled to see Todd Gurley find the end zone twice in Week 5, but once again his carry totals were down.

While Thursday’s 15 carries for 51 yards weren’t nearly as bad as only seeing five carries the week before against Tampa Bay, the entire situation surrounding Gurley continues to be a frustrating one.

Even if the Rams made it clear back in the offseason they would be taking a different approach with Gurley after seeing what took place last winter, this still doesn’t make the situation any easier to deal with.

For a running back that used to be a workhorse in the backfield, it’s unbelievable to see how Los Angeles has already played five games in 2019, and Gurley only 64 rushes to his name.

Obviously, Los Angeles deserves some credit for not wanting to overwork Gurley too early in the new season since the last thing they can afford to see happen is the running back miss time later in the year like 2018.

But with the Rams all of a sudden dropping their second loss in a row, this approach doesn’t seem to be working the way that it should.

Los Angeles was able to get by the first three games by winning when Gurley was still limited, but if the losses continue to pile up, the Rams may need to come up with some sort of new plan.
