3 Running backs for the LA Rams round 3 pick

There is a good chance that LA might decide to draft a running back in round 3. Rookie contracts are less expensive in each following round that the player gets taken. The value of the round 3 selection is estimated to be $4,212,386, according to overthecap.com.

Lawrence McCutcheon was the Rams third-round selection in the 1972 draft. He is fourth on the Rams franchise rushing list with 6186 yards. Could one of these running backs be the next McCutcheon?

First,  Eno Benjamin would be the perfect choice as the 84th overall pick. Benjamin accounted for 3492 yards from scrimmage in his short career at Arizona State. If there is a run at receivers, he could slide out of round 2 into round 3.

Second, Cam Akers, of Florida State, could possibly slide into round 3 as well. Akers ran for 1144 yards in 2019. Most of all, he averaged 4.9 yards-per-carry in college.

Third, Anthony McFarland might be the home run hitter LA has searched for. He ran a 4.44-second 40-yard dash at the Combine. The Maryland product averaged 6.7 yards-per-carry collegiately.

Remember, LA has two picks in the third round. They could take a cornerback and a running back. If the select a corner and offensive lineman, LA might pick one of these three in round 4.
