Ingram did nothing but produce for the last three years for the Ravens. He was healthy in 2020, too – no major injuries. That’s huge for anyone the Rams might consider bringing aboard. And he’s done so his entire 10 year NFL career. Despite carrying the ball nearly 1600 times in his career, he averaged 4.6 yards-per-carry. For comparison purposes, Brown has carried the ball just 295 times for merely a 4.0 yards-per-carry.

Could he be the sledgehammer back to the scatback Rams’ running back Darrell Henderson? And could he spell no longer running back Cam Akers, who became the featured back in the last four games this season for the Rams? We know Coach McVay sometimes prizes experience over youth in his players. Ingram checks that box, too.

He’s a good pass-catcher out of the backfield and very adept at picking up blitzes. For his career, he’s caught 260 out of 323 passes thrown in his direction for 1,895 yards and 10 touchdowns. And he doesn’t fumble. He’s just solidly dependable. He claws out those tough yards for you, moves the pile. We should be able to agree that the Rams need more offensive weapons. A wiley-veteran like Ingram would open a new chapter in the Rams playbook, whoever the quarterback may be.

Understandably, Ingram will likely garner interest from numerous other teams around the league. Pundits have already identified potential landing spots for him as the New  York Giants (and Jets), Chicago Bears, and Atlanta Falcons – let’s add the LA Rams to that list.
