There will be no coasting for the LA Rams into the 2022 NFL Playoffs, that’s for sure. Even if the LA Rams win 12 games before they ever get to 2022, there will be no opportunity to coast the rest of the way. That’s all thanks to the Rams opening the month of January 2022 on the road in Baltimore, Maryland to brave the wintry worst in a game against the Baltimore Ravens.

We know that game will get plenty of attention, especially after the controversial comments by Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters about feeling disrespected by the LA Rams. Of course, that’s just the tip of the iceberg between these two teams. The Rams could also be seeking payback after being humiliated by the Ravens 45-6 at home in 2019.

After that contest, the Rams return to the rival San Francisco 49ers in SoFi Stadium. It’s a pretty good chance that the Rams will see their rookie quarterback Trey Lance in that season-ending contest. After all, the 49ers traded a healthy cache of draft picks to trade up for the former South Dakota State University hurler, and whether or not they are playoff-bound, they’ll want to put him through his paces before the season ends.

While the 2021 NFL season schedule could be worse, some of the best features about the Rams schedule are less about who they play, and more about when the Rams play them.  The Rams face three division rival games in the final five matchups.  After the week 11 BYE, the Rams play seven straight games en route to what is hoped to be a deep playoff run.

While it’s difficult to judge the strength of schedule this soon, the Rams opponents are such that the difficult games are likely to remain difficult, while the bad teams from 2020 seem on the upswing, and could very well be far more difficult matchups this season.  We’ll take more about the Rams schedule soon.
