Team needs

One of the keys to appreciating the events of any NFL Scouting Combine is to understand with football positions will most likely be the focus of the LA Rams. After all, eight days of events with 324 rookie prospects is quite a bit to bite off at one time. That’s where we come in.

We break down those mountains into small shovelfuls of data to focus upon. For instance, we have analyzed which positions the Rams will likely focus upon in the 2022 NFL Draft, which will aid your survey of performances during the week’s events. But we didn’t stop there.

We went the extra step of aligning the LA Rams’ positional needs with the depth of the rookie class of 2022. That way, you can look at the list of attendees and make it a point to track any intriguing prospect. If you haven’t the time, you can check back from time to time to see which players we believe will attract interest from the LA Rams. We’ve already assembled a list of five inside linebacker prospects who could be targeted by the Rams in this draft.

Of course, as the Combine progresses, new information could modify what the LA Rams might need, or what the team may prioritize for their 2022 roster. The team is assembling their coaching staff, and new coaches may shift the Rams’ priorities for their off-season shopping.

The task this week is about anticipating which players will still be on the draft board when the Rams make their eight picks, and who of that group will contribute the most to the team in the near future? That’s quite the charge unto itself, but a number of those efforts will be rather dependent upon the available salary-cap funds, and perhaps even more so upon the players lost to the 2022 NFL Free Agency market.
