The Los Angeles Rams are keeping their 2026 NFL schedule very close to the vest. Unlike past seasons, which leaked prime time games and some highly anticipated contests hours, if not days, before the official release. Fans have only gotten clues about the NFL's international offerings. While we were prepared for leaks, let's pivot to another aspect of the incoming season.
The Los Angeles Rams know that they must travel halfway across the globe to face the rival San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia. But they were not aware that the 49ers may be without their ever-dangerous tight end George Kittle, who is still trying to work his way back from a torn Achilles.
#49ers GM John Lynch says on @NFLNetwork that TE George Kittle is doing well in his recovery from a torn Achilles: "He's going to be ready at some point, if not for the first game."

While Kittle's absence does not ensure a victory, it's certainly a factor that 49ers fans are not happy about. And the truth is that Kittle is one of the most consistent and productive offensive weapons in San Fran's offense. If he is out, that offense must reroute through other players. And none hold the same versatility in both the run and pass like Kittle.
Los Angeles faces tough NFC West Division games in 2026
The NFC West Division was one of the toughest NFL divisions last year, and there are no reasons to expect less this season. In fact, the Arizona Cardinals may improve this season as well. While that may not be significant, it does mean even more competitiveness on the schedule twice.
The Rams schedule is projected to be one of the toughest in the league this season. Of course, preseason projections presume all rookies fit, play to expectations, and that no players suffer injuries. That is quickly modified as injuries force teams to start backups and tap remaining free agents to round out roster holes.
LA had a solid season in 2025. But facing division rivals at less than 100 percent strength is not something fans will be upset about. In fact, Los Angeles has had numerous occasions to reload mid season due to unexpected injuries. The 49ers are still trying to recover from their injuries in 2026.
As always, Thanks for reading.
