Aaron Donald has been back in the spotlight ever since the Los Angeles Rams traded for Myles Garrett. Everyone has wondered what it would look like if Donald unretired to play alongside the former Browns star. He hasn’t shut down the speculation, deciding to feed into it instead.

Recently he threw a little more gasoline on the fire, getting fans' hopes up even higher for a potential return. A video of Donald showing Pittsburgh Steelers safety Jaquan Brisker pass-rushing moves was posted to social media, and Donald shared it.

It didn't appear to be a full-on intense training session, but Donald did have on a Rams shirt, and a towel to wipe away the sweat that he was working up. Fans couldn’t help but watch the video and convince themselves that the defensive tackle is building towards a return.

Aaron Donald's training video stokes speculation over potential Rams return

Donald has been retired for two seasons, but he stays famously in shape - evident by all the workout footage on his Instagram. Lifting weights, however, even in Donald's madman fashion, is much different from being in football shape. A competitor like Donald would surely want to be in elite form if he returns, so this video could hint that the future Hall of Famer is striving toward that goal.

It’s also possible that Donald is training to gauge whether his heart is truly in it. He has previously said that he lost the desire to play football, which is why he was comfortable retiring. Immediately following the Garrett trade, he admitted that whether or not he returns will come down to finding that fire.

So while the former defender has publicly flirted with the idea of coming back, he could be testing himself in private to see if it’s something he really wants to do. Fans would certainly love to see it. Donald was still the best defensive tackle in the league when he retired, and while he has been off the last two years, he’s still only 35 years old.

Time will tell where his heart is at, but videos like the one above will keep fans anticipating his return.
