The Los Angeles Rams know that in any NFL season, you win some and you lose some. And it's that theme that has prompted a weekly prediction for all 17 games (20 games if you add preseason) of the 2026 Rams schedule. If you want to be reassured or face your greatest fears, you can check that one out.
In the meantime, Grant Bellchamber, a Los Angeles Chargers expert over at Bolt Beat, voiced plenty of concerns over facing the Horns in that mid-season game.
"Easily the three games post-bye. Road matchups against the Los Angeles Rams and the Baltimore Ravens will present distinct challenges, but the Week 9 road game against the Houston Texans could be where we truly see what this new offensive line is made of. The Chargers should still exit this stretch with a winning record, but there's potential for any of those three games to be their toughest of the season." - Bolt Beat expert, Grant Bellchamber
AFC team experts are not looking forward to facing Los Angeles this season. The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs experts have already shared their concerns over facing the Horns in 2026. And now, another AFC team expert opens up about his concerns as well.
That's fair, as Los Angeles swept their five AFC games last season.
Chargers could be a tough win for Rams in 2026
While many fans rightfully believe the LA Rams to be capable of winning every game, the reality is that the team will suffer some losses at some point in the season. And the formidable Chargers may be a team that can emerge with a win.
The Bolts play a road game on paper, but they also claim SoFi Stadium as their home field, so the Horns are not really getting a home-field advantage in this one. And the Chargers are coming off an 11-5 season, appear to have upgraded the offense with new OC Mike McDonald, and are eager to take full advantage of quarterback Justin Herbert's many talents.
In essence, the Chargers may have more to play for than the Yellow and Blue.
This game could go either way. Neither team has definable advantages this far out from kickoff. Ultimately, it's the uncertainty that takes center stage for now. Perhaps that is the true secret to success: Preparing for each game as though it could be a loss.
As always, thanks for reading.
