Chiefs expert already disparaging Rams game as lynchpin to toughest stretch

KC fans are already unhappy about facing the LA Rams in Week 13, and here's why:

The Los Angeles Rams know that 2026 is not going to be easy in the quest for success. On paper, the team must travel further than almost every other NFL team, must face some of the toughest teams in the league, and essentially lose a home game at SoFi Stadium in the process. The team forfeits a game at SoFi to make history in Melbourne, Australia.

But veteran cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson are eager for another game on the now-official schedule. They have a bone to pick with the Kansas City Chiefs, the team that felt parting ways was a better option than ante'ing up to pay them their fair market value.

And it seems that Chiefs site-expert Matt Connor, from Arrowhead Addict, is none too happy about facing LA in Los Angeles:

"The four games before Christmas Day bring three consecutive road contests against the Bills, Rams, and Bengals before the Patriots come and visit in primetime." - Arrowhead Addict site-expert Matt Connor

I get it. Three consecutive road games against potential a trio of playoff-bound teams is not very fun.

Chiefs vs. Rams prime time has NFL classic written all over it

While some games for LA Rams fans are against hated rivals, the rivalry with the Chiefs is more about mutual respect. When these two teams clashed in 2018, it was a thrilling game that seemed to be all offense as LA outlasted KC by a score of 54-51. And yet, the game in 2026 may rival that offensive shootout.

Los Angeles led the NFL with the top-scoring offense in 2026. But Kansas City is eager to reclaim the AFC crown after stumbling to a losing record last season. And when better to do so than to kick off a playoff push in Week 13? And the NFL is confident in the marketability of this one, as it is slated to be the featured game on Thursday Night Football.

The schedule has been a bit generous for the Horns this season. After a Week 11 BYE, LA hosts the Packers on Wednesday of Week 12, then hosts the Chiefs on TNF on Prime, then travels to San Francisco on Sunday of Week 13.

3 brutal teams? Absolutely. But the Yellow and Blue have a month to fit all three contests in, which means that the team has ample time to recover and heal up as a result. The Chiefs play TNF on the road against the Bills in Week 12, TNF at Los Angeles in Week 13, and on the road on Sunday in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

NFL fans love it when Andy Reid and company face off against Sean McVay's gang. But two new veteran cornerbacks are eager for this one, and it's about a menu with a dish best served cold.

As always, thanks for reading.
