The Los Angeles Rams offense has never been so talented. The offense boasts four tight ends who scored at least three touchdowns apiece in 2025. The same offense boasts two running backs who could pierce the 1000+ rushing yards plateau. And then you have two elite wide receivers who could generate 1000+ receiving yards with 10+ touchdowns apiece.
But NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky believes that signing free agent wide receiver Stefon Diggs would propel this offense to the next level:
"I think Matthew Stafford is in the ideal frame of mind where the journey and the destination are both the same..

It's genuine that he wants to help Ty Simpson and I think he's in a very good place..
I would love to see the Rams go and get AJ Brown or Stefon Diggs" ~… https://t.co/OuNB1IiozN pic.twitter.com/EPsxWNSBAj
Of course, he hints that the offense would benefit from either Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown or Diggs. But as the New England Patriots hunker down for long, drawn-out negotiations to pry Brown from the Eagles, general manager Les Snead has already moved on. But Diggs has been linked to Los Angeles before.
Are flames flickering underneath all this smoke?
Stefon Diggs to LA Rams rumors are heating up
There is a perception that, despite topping the NFL in scoring in 2026, the LA Rams are missing a veteran wide receiver to compete for a Super Bowl in 2026. And it's pretty clear that after putting up over 1000 receiving yards for the New England Patriots last season, veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs still commands mastery of route-running in the NFL.
Diggs was released to clear cap space.
The problem is not Diggs' talent. The greatest challenge to these NFL rumors is how much work could LA's offense steer Diggs' way? After all, Los Angeles found significant success with multiple tight-end sets in 2025. Should the team abandon what worked in 2025 in the hope of repeating success with a new offensive formula?
That's a tough question. LA has stockpiled talent in the tight end room and the running back room. While Stefon Diggs would be a solid contributor in this offense, would he be satisfied with a limited number of targets? He scored four touchdowns on 102 targets in 2025.
In sharp contrast, Los Angeles converted 150 targets to four tight ends into 1,128 yards and 17 touchdowns. That's better than Diggs generated, and he was the Patriots' top receiver in 2025.
Dan Orlovsky is a solid NFL analyst, and he is frequently clued into the Rams strategy as well as anybody. But it's unclear how an offense that has so many mouths to feed can possibly carve out enough targets from the offense to keep everyone happy.
The Eagles are trying to trade AJ Brown because he is unhappy with his workload. LA shouldn't be expected to willingly create the same nightmarish scenario in 2026 just because the team is chasing a Super Bowl victory.
As always, thanks for reading.
