Once a Packer, always a Packer. That';s the buzz right now for Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Davante Adams. The cause is due to the Green Bay Packers shocking loss to the Chicago Bears, despite having a double-digit lead late in the game. And the Packers' qualification to Adams is the outcry from many Packers fans who want their former wide receiver to avenge their loss.
"Once a Packer, always a Packer... If [Packers fans] get something from it, I love that as well." 🧀

But that wasn't the first thing on Adams' mind. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Having faced the Bears many times in his career, Adams knows that January is the wrong time of year to play in the Windy City. And right on queue, Chicago's temps are plummeting to sub-freezing and the wind is howling.
Adam's has put up some lofty numbers when facing the Bears in crunch time in the past. But he was in the prime of his career and was catching passes from Packers starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Neither are Cheeseheads any longer, and both have put some miles on their bodies.
Still, Rams fans hope that Bear-beating ferocity remains in Adams DNA
Davante Adams does more in Rams offense than fans realize
While his receiving yards may have lulled in 2025, Adams is a critical piece of LA's offensive puzzle. His ability to create separation literally forces secondaries to double up on his coverage. That opens the door for teammate Puka Nacua to get open for huge gains, or tight end Colby Parkinson to score touchdowns.
Speaking of scoring, Adams has levelled the team's ability to score, taking it to an entirely new level. Despite sitting out the latter part of the season, he single-handedly replaced the scoring of wide receivers Cooper Kupp, Demarcus Robinson, and Tyler Johnson.
And he didn't score his first touchdown until Week 2.
The thing is, he scored 11 touchdowns in just six games. If he gets hot like that again, he could hit double-digit scoring in the NFL playoffs. Wouldn't that be something?
Cold is one of the most challenging conditions for a pass-centric offense. But if any combination can do it, Davante Adams is the receiver who can make it work. Adams was impressed by his quarterback just as they took the football field to retake the lead and the win. Now, he has a chance to impress Matthew Stafford and his teammates in the playoffs.
He won't disappoint. As always, thanks for reading.
