Eccentric radio host believes Rams are a Super Bowl Championship team, but...

The 7-2 Rams are successful. But thanks to NFL schedulers, the road to the Super Bowl is still an uphill climb.

The 7-2 Los Angeles Rams are impressive so far this season. Seven wins in nine games is something that hasn't happened since the 2021 Super Bowl-winning season culminated in a Lombardi Trophy from Super Bowl LVI. Those little tidbits get noticed. Right now, NFL analyst and talking head Adam Schein is touting the Rams as the team to beat in Super Bowl LX

He made his prediction favoring Los Angeles before the season started, and is now doubling down on the team at the season's midpoint. Is he right? Perhaps. After all, it seems like a safe claim to point to a team that boasts one of the most successful records this year as a team to beat.

There is plenty of evidence supporting a claim that puts the 2025 Rams roster on par with that of the 2021 season. While the team is lacking All-Pro performers, the overall blend of players and contributions is just as effective. And this year's team has been very adept at rolling through injuries..

The secondary stepped up when cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon broke his collarbone. And the entire offense stepped up when elite wide receiver Puka Nacua was hampered by injuries.

Rams have to prove themselves in fiercely competitive second-half

Even as LA basks in the glow of success to this point of the 2025 season, don't celebrate too soon. Next up is the 7-2 Seattle Seahawks. After that, Los Angeles hosts the 6-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In December, the team hosts the 6-3 Detroit Lions, and then follows that up by traveling to take on the 7-2 Seattle Seahawks on the road.

One game on the road against the feisty 5-5 Carolina Panthers and two games against the 3-6 Arizona Cardinals round out the remaining games.

Confidence aside, the schedule remains brutal. LA is competing against first-place teams from 2024, while other divisional teams face a less formidable schedule.

Keep in mind that LA is only 2-2 in the NFC. The team swept the AFC South Division and all AFC teams this season. But in terms of playoff tie-breakers, those wins carry the least impact.

The Rams know that every game through the end of the season has significant weight in terms of postseason seeding. Every remaining opponent competes in the NFC, and four of the team's remaining eight games are against division opponents. Like it or not, to win the Super Bowl, this team will need to play some games at home.

Despite tying both the Philadephia Eagles and Seahawks with 7-2 records, LA loses all current tiebreakers with those teams. To improve in status against those teams, Los Angeles has to keep on winning. That won't be easy.

But it's necessary. To be the winner, this team has to defeat the winners. Nine games into the season, that is exactly what this team has done. Now, the Yellow and Blue must find a way to continue that success.

As always, thanks for reading.
