When it comes to the Los Angeles Rams offense, who is a better Fantasy Football option than veteran wide receiver Davante Adams? He is one of the hottest players in the league right now, as he is a touchdown scoring machine. But he appeared on the team's injury report this week, suffering from a hamstring injury.
That leaves everyone asking the same question: Is Davante Adams playing today? In a word, yes. But is that enough of an answer for a guy who is rocking the entire NFL with his ability to score at will against top NFL secondaries at the ripe age of 32? Let's dive in a bit deeper.
Adams is a veteran receiver who is far better than the brochure. Now playing in his 12th NFL season, he is the epitome of durability, consistency, and professionalism. He was the next chapter for LA's receiver room, but he warrants his own chapter. In his first 12 games with this team, he has managed to duplicate the touchdown production of three veterans from 2024.
And he's just getting warmed up.
Durable Davante Adams is exactly what this offense needs
The Taco Bell spokesman is human and has fought through injuries before to suit up on game day for Los Angeles this season. But he hasn't slowed down. If anything, he is getting much better. While only putting up three touchdowns in the first six games in Horns, he is red hot of late. He has scored 11 touchdowns in his last six games.
The thing is, that level of production has not come naturally or instinctively. Both he and veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford have worked long and hard to sync up in the red zone. The results are profound.
Adams is good. But the fact that the team can rely on him week in and week out is beyond expectations. One of the greatest challenges for LA's offense is finding players who check all the boxes while handling the superhuman task of showing up for work each week.
Davante Adams does that too.
The wily veteran needn't beg for targets. He knows they'll come. He needn't plead for looks in the red zone. He understands his value, and that he will be thrown to in the end zone. He is having fun, not just from winning, but because he's found a team that matches his passion for football.
He has 689 yards and 14 touchdowns in just 12 games. What will he put up in Week 14? Los Angeles Rams fans are eager to find out. Arizona Cardinals fans? Not so much.
As always, thanks for reading.
