When it comes to the most dominating wide receiver in the NFL, most fans will name Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who put up 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns in 17 games. But Los Angeles Rams fans will name wide receiver Puka Nacua, who put up 1,713 yards and 10 touchdowns by appearing in just 16 games.
And in two of the games he appeared in, he sat out a half.
So, how well has he played against the Seahawks defense in two games this year? Well, catching 19 of 24 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns seems pretty good. And he is suiting up to face the Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game as well.
Best of all, the weather is ideal for football.
Puka Nacua was the engine that helped quarterback Matthew Stafford put up MVP-esque numbers this season. His catch rate of nearly 78 percent for the season was incredible, particularly as this was only his third NFL season. And despite a phenomenal rookie season, he eclipsed those numbers with a far better year in 2025.
Yes, he is suiting up for this one.
Puka Nacua is a perfect complement to Davante Adams
Matching up Puka Nacua with veteran wide receiver Davante Adams was a stroke of genius by head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead. The two combined for more than 2,500 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. That's the type of production that rivals that of an entire wide receiver room.
Nacua has been particularly productive. Without he mentor, Cooper Kupp, the team placed a huge amount of trust and pressure on their rapidly-rising receiver star. Thankfully, he's delivered at or better than expectations. Of course, it helps when catching passes from Stafford, the quarterback who arguably throws one of the most catchable passes in the NFL.
Can the Seahawks secondary keep Nacua grounded? Perhaps. But if they do so, another receiver is bound to explode. Nacua can struggle with press-man coverage, and yet the offense can find ways to get him open or simply use the secondary's focus to clear out areas for other receivers.
The former Brigham Young University receiver is more than happy to oblige the team and take what defenses are willing to give.
Nacua is versatile. Not only is he the most productive receiver, but he can block as effectively as a tight end. He also brings a power back feel to the offense, rushing 10 times for 105 yards and one touchdown.
Puka Nacua is not just the future of the franchise. He is a key contributor who can help Los Angeles win and compete in Super Bowl LX. He has never competed for the Lombardi Trophy yet. It's time that he does.
As always, thanks for reading.
