In many facets, 2025 has already been one of the crazier seasons for Los Angeles Rams fans. Not only has this season had its share of you-have-to-see-it-to-believe-it plays and controversial calls by some confused officials, but it's also home to one of the funniest ongoing conspiracy theories. It arose when starting quarterback Matthew Stafford was unable to suit up in training camp thanks to a nagging back injury.

It all began when the 37-year-old was spotted entering an Ammortal Chamber. The mobile therapeutic clinic combines a diverse number of technologies to relieve pain and discomfort and promote health and athletic performance. You can learn more about the new technology here. But Stafford's use of the pain-relief clinic triggered some to speculate that he died and was cloned.

The conspiracy has gained traction, despite being... bonkers. Even team COO Kevin Demoff was sucked into the vortex and played right along, by not denying the rumors of the creation of Matthew Stafford 2.0. But if you thought it stopped there, think again. This story just refuses to go away.

While many fans may roll their eyes at the tongue-in-cheek humor, some still cling to the false perception that something more than basic pain relief transpired in the Ammortal Chamber. And Pat McAfee was more than happy to poke those rumors again in a recent interview with Stafford following his 375-yard, three-touchdown performance in Week 4 to beat the Indianapolis Colts.

Of course, with those huge grins, there’s not much stock to be taken in the ongoing joke. But one thing is clear: the 17-year-vet has tapped into a fountain of youth once more. How else could he erupt for the best single-game performance of his career in Horns? Ironically, the wily veteran was expected to struggle this season with lingering back issues.

Winning cures everything. And with three wins in four games, both the team and its aging signal-caller are feeling pretty good about themselves. That’s exactly how it should be. They’re figuring out how to score points, shut down the run, and win football games, just in time for a Week 5 showdown with the San Francisco 49ers. Hopefully, they continue trending upward and emerge victorious once again. As always, thanks for reading.
