Los Angeles Rams fans don't know for sure if Matthew Stafford will be their starting quarterback in 2025 or if the team will go in a different direction. A name that has recently started to be floated around in the rumor mill is Aaron Rodgers, who is coming off two seasons to forget with the Jets.
Colin Cowherd already discussed why Rodgers to Los Angeles makes sense but now other talking heads are buying into the idea. Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel is another name you can add to the 'Rodgers to the Rams' hype team, as Daniel spoke about the potential match on The Facility.
"If I'm [Rodgers], I want to play. Okay, where do I go play?" Daniels said. "You know a team to watch is the LA Rams. He wants to get back out to LA. I would not be surprised if he wants to play with Sean McVay... If [the Rams] end up trading Stafford, they could give him another year or two."
Chase Daniel is banging the drum for Aaron Rodgers to the Rams
It's interesting that this idea is now starting to gain some traction. Until we know what's going to happen with Stafford, it's hard to say how this could turn out but the points being brought up, both by Daniel here and by Cowherd earlier in the day, do make sense.
Rodgers has a big personality and needs to be with a head coach who he respects. Sean McVay certainly falls into that category and has proven that he can win even when things aren't going great for his team.
More Rams news:
Rodgers is also from California so getting back out to Los Angeles would make a lot of sense for him. It's not even a situation where the Rams would have to trade for Rodgers either, as the Jets have made it clear they'll be moving on from him.
While Rodgers hasn't been the same guy in recent years that he once was, people are trying to talk this move into existence. We'll have to see if it ends up happening or not.
