NFL believes Rams have 'it' factor with this scheduling surprise

The league's most watchable team?

The Los Angeles Rams have the best Super Bowl odds in the NFL, and while that might leave fans uneasy, there is a reason for it. They have the offensive firepower, the Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback, and the head coaching personality on the sidelines.

This season, the Rams also have a new-look defense led by Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson in the secondary. This should be a fun team to watch.

The NFL seems to think so. Otherwise, they wouldn't have given your Los Angeles Rams the most primetime games in the land, the maximum of seven allowed under current league rules.

No other team has that many, not even the reigning champs, the Seahawks. The Horns are all alone atop the pyramid of TV timeslot privilege.

Rams have the talent to dazzle viewers on the daily

It's easy to understand why people would tune into Rams games. This roster features enough stars to light up the night sky.

Puka Nacua is a stud, a football fantasy darling. Davante Adams is a legend. Stafford is liable to produce another no-look meme on any given throw. Don't look at me. Don't look at me.

Iconic with his spiked hair and charisma, McVay is the poster child for the youth movement in head coaching. He just might be the best in the business.

The defense brings young energy in the form of Jared Verse and Byron Young off the edge. Defensive tackle Kobie Turner, a.k.a. The Conductor, is an elite composer of the Sack Dance. The DB room is suddenly stacked.

The privilege of being ultrawatchable also comes with a curse. Those primetime games aren't cupcakes, contributing to a Rams schedule ranked in the top five in difficulty based on projected win totals.

The easiest of the batch comes in Week 2 on Monday night against the Giants. Even then, don't count on a cookie. After a 4-13 finish in 2025, the Giants' win total in '26 sits at 7.5 under new coach John Harbaugh. That pass rush is ferocious.

Plus, the Rams will be returning from their Week 1 trip Down Under against the 49ers. Even with 10 days' rest, they may need a while to get their feet back beneath them after the opening week's travel. Lingering jet lag could be a factor.

Earning the NFL's favor isn't all fun and games

In fact, LA's first three games are all primetime affairs, ending Week 3 with Sunday Night Football in Denver. And then there's the remaining slate: Bills, Packers, Chiefs, Seahawks. Not so friendly, is it?

Clearly, however, the scheduling committee believes that the Rams are up to the challenge. At least five of those games could turn out to be slugfests, if not on the scoreboard then in the spirit of play.

Fans from both sides remember the last time the Horns clashed with Buffalo, a 44-42 barn-burner in 2024. The Rams and Chiefs will always share that historic 54-51 affair on November 19, 2018. This season, there's a new wrinkle. LA cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson will face their former team for the first time.

A game against the Seahawks? We all know how those go. Madness. And Thanksgiving Eve against the Packers should be a doozy, though it also comes at the worst possible time.

If it feels like the NFL has it out for the Rams, the flip side is that they trust in this team's ability to put on an absolute show when the world is watching. Win or lose, they rarely fail to entertain.
