The Los Angeles Rams will clearly have some tough matchups for the 2024 NFL Season. These three games stick out as being the hardest. The Rams will have to go through some extremely tough opponents in their quest to win another Super Bowl. The team won it all in 2021 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but the roster looked much different then than it does now.

The Rams have a much younger foundation in place, so long-term success is close. The team may have to think about replacing QB Matthew Stafford at some point in the near future, but outside of that, many other positions are settled for the long-term.

Let's focus more on 2024 and look at their three toughest matchups.

3 toughest games on the Los Angeles Rams schedule for the 2024 NFL Season

The LA Rams play 17 games in 2024. Since this is an even year, the Rams (along with all NFC teams), play nine home games and eight road games. If you want a quick glance at the teams full schedule, you can click this link.

Week 1 - @ Detroit Lions

A matchup of the LA Rams 2023 Wild Card game, the Detroit Lions look to again get the best of the team. The Lions, frankly, have a Super Bowl roster, and I do not see a clear weakness with this teams. When the two teams met in the postseason last year, it was clear that the Lions were the better team and in more of a position to make a deep playoff run.

After the offseason that the LA Rams had, they did close the gap a bit with the Lions, and these two clubs meeting late in the postseason in 2024 would not at all surprise me. However, no matter how you slice it, this game is going to be tough, regardless if the Rams win or lose. Matthew Stafford makes yet another return to Detroit, the place he called home for years to begin his NFL career.

Week 10 - vs. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have the fastest and perhaps best offense in the NFL. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle highlight a unit led by QB Tua Tagovailoa, who signed a huge extension this offseason. The Dolphins just cannot play in cold weather, and since this is a home game for the Los Angeles Rams, Miami might be playing at their best.

It's not clear as of now if the Rams secondary is fast enough to keep up with Hill and Waddle, but even if they are, the Dolphins have other ways to mess with you besides their wide receivers. Dolphins GM Chris Grier has certainly gone all-in this offense, as their defense even feels a lot more secure on paper.

Regardless if Miami is able to play in cold weather in 2024, this game promises to be a tough one for the Rams.

Week 15 - @ San Francisco 49ers

No matter the location, the San Francisco 49ers are always going to be a tough opponent to beat, but the game should be a just a bit tougher playing in their home stadium. The 49ers have been going through a bit of a saga here with WR Brandon Aiyuk, as some of their large contracts are beginning to catch up to them.

The Niners will also have to pay Brock Purdy next offseason, so it would not shock me to see Aiyuk playing for another team in the 2024 NFL Season, which is likely to be the Pittsburgh Steelers if not the 49ers. Even if Aiyuk is odd another team, the Niners will be a tough out.

And it truly would not surprise if the LA Rams had to go through both the 49ers and the Lions to make the Super Bowl in 2024.
