3 way too early positions to target for the LA Rams in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Rams have some long-term needs they need to address.

The Los Angeles Rams may be undergoing a ton of change next offseason, as they could target these three positions in the 2025 NFL Draft. You have to hand it to General Manager Les Snead for the work he's done this offseason in improving the roster. And it seems like he hit a grand-slam with the team's 2023 NFL Draft class.

The work is never done for any GM trying to build a winning team for the long-term, as the Rams may have some major positions they need to target in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Quarterback

The Los Angeles Rams do not seem all the way sold on Matthew Stafford for the long-term, which is the right mindset to have:

"The team moved $5M from future years into 2024, benefiting the 16th-year veteran now rather than later. Although Stafford saw a $4M 2025 roster bonus become part of his $40M guarantee package on this revision, ESPN.com’s Jeremy Fowler notes the Rams are still viewing this partnership through a year-to-year lens."

Sam Robinson

So, Jeremy Fowler, who is very well-connected, is reporting this. Stafford is now in his age-36 season in the NFL, so he is getting up there in age for sure. He's also someone who has been banged up frequently, so it may only be a matter of time before the Rams have to say goodbye to Stafford.

This could lead them to target someone in the 2025 NFL Draft, perhaps within the first two rounds. Quarterbacks like Shedeur Sanders, Quinn Ewers, Carson Beck, and Jalen Milroe figure to hear their names called first, so the Rams may end up being in on one of them.

Cornerback

Darious Williams and Tre'Davious White figure to be the Los Angeles Rams top two cornerbacks this season, which could be a great short-term solution, but there isn't a ton of certainty with this unit beyond the 2024 NFL Season. General Manager Les Snead could again be back at work trying to bring in some young CB talent from the 2025 NFL Draft.

And with the NFL now being a pass-first league, it's imperative that LA continues to bolster their secondary. Snead truly did that this offseason, as there are several new faces, but the work won't stop next year, as being able to get young talent is the best way for a team to sustain success for the long-term.

Wide Receiver

The Los Angeles Rams are not going to have Cooper Kupp forever. He's already 31 years old and may be in the last couple of years with the Rams, the team he's played for his entire career. Kupp has also played in just 21 games over the last two seasons, so injuries are becoming to be more of a concern.

We all know that Puka Nacua is going to be a long-term fixture for the Los Angeles Rams, but neither Kupp or Demarcus Robinson are going to be here for the long-term. Tutu Atwell did show some progress in 2023, so he might be someone worth holding onto, but it's clear that the Rams may need at least one more player in this unit for the long-term.

Rams GM Les Snead should target someone in the 2025 NFL Draft to help fill this void, which could be present next offseason.
