4 Cam Akers trade packages for current interested teams
By Ryan Heckman
Here we go again. Cam Akers might actually be on his way out this time, as the Los Angeles Rams are actively attempting to trade the fourth-year running back.
Akers was deemed inactive in Week 2, paving the way for Kyren Williams to take over as the lead back.
After the inactive announcement, it was reported that Akers was then subject of trade talks. On Tuesday, a few specific teams were connected with interest.
If the Rams tried pulling off a trade with one of these four teams, this is what it could look like. Let's take a look at each scenario.
The Bucs are interested and could swing a deal for Cam Akers
The Bucs went into this season ready to ride second-year pro Rachaad White as their no. 1 back. Although they are 2-0 on the year, White hasn't done much in the run game thus far. He's rushed 34 times for 112 yards and a touchdown, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry.
Behind White, the Bucs have rookie Sean Tucker along with veterans Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Chase Edmonds. Tucker is a preseason darling and a guy who the Bucs love. Some folks have even predicted that Tucker will eventually take over as the starter for White.
So, the interest in Akers is definitely interesting. If they were to trade for him, it would likely affect White in a big way. Tucker's future would still look bright in Tampa, however.
