The Los Angeles Rams are going to be facing a very crucial test early on in the 2024 NFL Season. Will they pass this test? Here are the LA Rams first five opponents to open up the 2024 NFL Season:

Week 1 - @ Detroit Lions
Week 2 - @ Arizona Cardinals
Week 3 - vs. San Francisco 49ers
Week 4 - @ Chicago Bears
Week 5 - vs. Green Bay Packers

At first glance, you will see that the Los Angeles Rams will play three of their first five games on the road, which is no good. This five-game stretch is also about 29% of the season, so it's imperative that the team starts on the right foot here. Furthermore, three of their first five games are against 2023 playoff teams.

The Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, and Green Bay Packers all made the postseason last year, and it was the Lions who took down the Rams in the Wild Card Round. And let's not discount the Arizona Cardinals or Chicago Bears, either. I am quite high on the Cardinals in 2024. I think they double their win total from 2023, as their issue last year was not coaching, but rather a severe lack of talent.

And now that Kyler Murray is another year removed from his 2022 torn ACL, the Cards are going to be frisky, so it would not surprise me to see LA get out to an 0-2 start in 2024, as it is going to be extremely tough to go into Detroit and win, and the Cardinals are no slouches anymore. The Chicago Bears also feel like a breakout team in 2024.

Their defense ended the 2023 NFL Season holding opponents to less than 20 points per game, and if that can carry over into the 2024 NFL Season, the Bears may be one of the more complete teams in the NFL. Rookie QB Caleb Williams is now in the picture, and their offense is just littered with weapons like DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, Gerald Everett, Cole Kmet, and D'Andre Swift.

Ugh, that may be a handful for the LA Rams defense to deal with. Overall, when you look at their first five games of the 2024 NFL Season, it's going to turn into a very early test for this team.
