Rams’ new alternates just nailed what fans have been begging for

The new Los Angeles Rams alternate jersey is scheduled for a big reveal on August 28, 2025. And we all know how the Rams' history has gone whenever the team dabbles in color schemes, new logos, and uniform designs. But this time could be vastly different. Has the team learned its lesson? Perhaps. I suppose it all hinges on how the team rolls out the new reveal. And of course, what that new reveal might be.

There is a rainbow of colors that could be harnessed for the Rams' alternative uniforms. But the Rams seem to be trying a new color altogether. The first clue is Midnight Mode, which is going viral on social media. What could midnight mode refer to? It appears that the Rams' big reveal is going to target black jerseys:

Rams are coming back in black

For years, some Rams fans have sought black jersey options for the team. And at least one contributor at Ramblin' Fan begged for the team to roll out a black jersey. Despite some video artistry that surfaced years ago (see video below), the pleas fell on deaf ears.

Even former All-Pro veteran ILB Bobby Wagner wanted to play in the intimidating black jersey. But the team did not accommodate him. But the seed was planted, and the ask was tucked into the 'future reveal' category.

Perhaps that's why the Rams have already scheduled the debut of the Midnight Mode Rivalries teaser to occur on November 16, 2025. On that date, the Rams will host the Seattle Seahawks, Bobby Wagner's former team:

What gives? Why are the Rams and other NFL teams teasing and flirting with NFL fans over new team logos and color schemes? It's all to do with an NFL-NIKE joint venture of rolling out a new Special Edition uniform to commemorate NFL division rivalry games this season.
