Quinn Injured, Rams Make More Moves
There was some good news and some bad news to come out of Rams Park on Sunday. First, the bad news. The Rams placed first-rounder Robert Quinn on the non-football injury list with what the team is calling a “tweaked knee”. According to sources, Quinn injured himself working out on his own in North Carolina a few months ago. I don’t know how long he is expected to be out, but it sounds, at least at this point, like the injury is fairly minor. When more news is released, I’ll make sure to let everyone know. More after the break…
I can’t believe I am about to say this, but the NFC West could be an exciting division to watch in the 2011 version of the NFL. The Seahawks, Cardinals, and Rams are all making some very respectable moves. Perhaps even Alex Smith and Jim Harbaugh are conjuring up something, perhaps even if it’s just a competitive squad that won’t be an easy-win for anyone. We all know we have the best QB in the division, but the best RB in the division is an area most people would disagree on. Sure Steven Jackson runs hard and can catch the ball, [...]
Quinn signed, Bannan as well by Rams
The St. Louis Rams continued adding to their roster on Sunday, as they inked first-rounder Robert Quinn and former Denver DT Justin Bannan to deals. According to sources, Quinn’s deal is four-years with an option for a fifth, while Bannan’s is reportedly for three years. These moves are in addition to the team’s previous signings that included WR Mike Sims-Walker, CB Al Harris, LB Zac Diles, G Harvey Dahl, S Quintin Mikell, and the rest of the 2011 rookie draft class. Rams fans have to be happy with what the team has done so far. It might not be the [...]
Rams Options at RB
If you’re a football nut like me, these last few days have been very exciting. One minute I’m excited about who the Rams just signed, then the next I’m down about who we missed out on. Thursday night I was very disappointed the Rams did not sign Darren Sproles; I definitely felt like he was one that got away. But the good news its that there are several good options left at the RB position. Some of the names that have been linked to the Rams include Jason Snelling (most recently with ATL), Jerome Harrison (PHI) and most recently Ronnie [...]
Rams Interested In a Ronnie Brown (RB)
Now, that the Rams signed a decent WR and a safety. What’s next? The backup running back situation and what running back is left? The most know running back left is Joseph Addai and the Colts are trying hard to keep him. If they don’t get there in time the Rams should go after him and get a deal done before the Colts can. But guess what go to nfl.com and you will see who the Rams are realy interested in and that is Ronnie Brown from the Dolphins. Steven Jackson told the organization to talk to Ronnie after being [...]
Rams Reportedly Sign Harris, Sims-Walker
After a slow start to free agency, the Rams made some waves on Friday. According to sources, the team has signed WR Mike Sims-Walker, CB Al Harris and LB Zac Diles in addition to G Harvey Dahl. Assuming all these deals are done, Rams fans everywhere have to be happy with what has gone down tonight. I have loved Sims-Walker for awhile, and I think bringing him in is a great move by this team. He has the ability to be a true number one-type guy, and I think this offense is better immediately when he joins the team. Harris is a veteran [...]
Welcome 2nd Dahl!!
The St. Louis Rams welcome in its second Dahl to the team; OG Harvey Dahl. Signing Dahl shores up the offensive line for the foreseeable future. Dahl has been one of the guards I have been advocating for – the other being his former linemate, Justin Blalock. With Dahl now on board, the Rams have a big, nasty o-line. Of coarse a player of Dahl’s staure doesn’t come cheap. He probably commanded a pretty penny. Now all the talk about the Front Office being cheap can stop. I am still hoping for some help at the outside linebacker spots. AHH [...]
Are We Saving For Plaxico? Or Who Else?
The Rams after signing Mikell, have been very silent in free agency. Which the Sproles signing to Saints, disappointed me. What the heck are they doing? They’re only trying for one position and that’s DT. They should at least try and that’s not what’s happening. Well then they might be interested in Plaxico and a backup running back. I suggest they resign Darby for a one year deal and get LMJ next year, if he is available. They also may be interested in Braylon and Braylon has been quiet to in free agency too. Barely trying to resign with Jets [...]
Rams Sign Rookies; Sproles To Big Easy
The signings continued for the Rams today, but it wasn’t free agents the Rams agreed to terms with. The team reached agreements with four of their 2011 draft picks: WR Greg Salas, S Jermale Hines, CB Mikail Baker, and S Jonathan Nelson. This was a good first step on the rookie signing front, but the most important picks remain unsigned. As far as first-rounder Robert Quinn goes, it looks like his signing might be delayed due to on ongoing lawsuit against the player by his former agent. Hopefully this situation doesn’t cause Quinn to miss much camp time, because with the late [...]
Free Agency Update
This is my first time posting twice in one day. This time it’s another update and more of my predictions. The Bengals traded Ochocino to the Patriots and Rodgers-Cromartie to the Eagles. I know you already know this but what they traded is two of our needs. The one I will like the most is CB right now. Because Mark Clayton will be our veteran receiver this year from free agency. So that leaves OLB, CB , and DT open. The one most important is DT but not that many good ones are there. Now that takes us to CB. [...]
