St. Louis Rams Win An Oscar?

And the St. Louis Rams win an Oscar? That’s right, well, kind of. ESPN gave out awards on Monday after Sunday’s Oscars and the St. Louis Rams won the best original score award.

Down 14-3 and punting from the 49-yard line, Jon Ryan punted the ball away to who everybody thought was Tavon Austin. WRONG! Instead, the Rams blocked as if the ball was going to Austin, but instead it went to other side of the field to Stedman Bailey who lined up as a gunner when the play began.

This was definitely a big play in the game as it put the Rams up three scored late in the first half, and they would need it. The Seahawks fought all the way back to 28-26 and had Wilson completed a pass to Jermaine Kearse on a two-point conversion, the Seahawks would have tied it.

Unfortunately for the Seahawks that isn’t the only fake punt play that the Rams would convert that day. Late in the fourth quarter with just a little less than three minutes to play, the Rams faced 4th and three from their own 18-yard line.

Thankfully the Rams have their actual franchise quarterback playing punter and Johnny Hekker completed an 18-yard pass to Benny Cunningham to basically seal the win and keep the ball away from what was a very hot Russell Wilson.

While the Rams only won six games last season, this Seahawks win was definitely one of the bigger wins, and this play certainly defined it.

Also winning an award was New York Giants wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr., who won picture of the year with his insane one-handed grab.
