Talk is beginning to heat up surrounding the possibility of Pierre Garcon signing with the Los Angeles during free agency.

When the time comes, the Los Angeles Rams will have plenty of decisions to make when it comes to improving the offense for the 2017 season, especially at the wide receiver position. With Kenny Britt most likely on his way out, the Rams will have a void to fill at wideout, and the one name to keep an eye on once free agency officially gets underway is Pierre Garcon of the Washington Redskins.

Along with his teammate DeSean Jackson, Garcon is expected to draw heavy interest from numerous teams, and rightfully so when seeing how much the two wide receivers flourished last year in Washington’s passing game. As great as the addition of Jackson in Los Angeles would be, it appears Garcon seems like a better option to join the Rams to provide Jared Goff with a reliable veteran at wide receiver.

Steve Wyche of the NFL Network recently discussed how there’s a lot of chatter in Los Angeles about the possibility of Garcon joining the team, which would make a great addition for the Rams in the passing game. Not only would Garcon provide the Rams with the veteran leadership the team desperately needs, but let’s not forget his familiarity with Sean McVay‘s system since the new head coach spent the previous three seasons as offensive coordinator for the Redskins.

Only time will tell when it comes to whether this ends up happening, but after catching 79 passes for 1,041 yards with three touchdowns in 2016, it’s clear Garcon still has some gas left in the tank to still be an effective weapon on offense. Wyche made a lot of valid points during his recent segment discussing the possibility of Garcon coming to Los Angeles, but hopefully it would be at the right price if it were to happen.
