Conclusion- The Realistic Option
Obviously the Rams are going to go with a little of everything. They aren’t going to solely go with what they have, and they aren’t going to solely build through free agency or the draft. Most likely they are going to go with a good mixture.
Realistically speaking, the Rams will cut Scott Wells and bring back Jake Long on a re-structured deal. As much as it would be good, I also see Barksdale moving on to a different team as well.
When the 2015 season opener arrives here’s what I predict the Rams offensive line to look like:

RT- Andrus Peat
RG- Jake Long
C- Stefen Wisniewski
LG- Rodger Saffold
LT- Greg Robinson
Taking a look at this final set up the Rams do what I think Jeff Fisher will do and stick by his players. I dont think he will cut Jake Long, but indeed move him to guard. Fisher is too much of a player’s coach to do what he probably should do and cut the former pro bowler.
I also see the Rams signing a veteran center. While a guy like Erving would be nice, Fisher likes his veterans especially on the offensive line. It is even more important at the center position when calls have to be made.
The team will also move on from Barksdale while putting their trust in Greg Robinson blocking the left side.
While this isn’t my favorite option it is the most realistic. If things went my way, I would prefer bringing in a guy like Scherff and Irving to anchor the offensive line for the next ten years.
Even so however, the Rams offensive line would have improved significantly from last season and will at the very least give this offense a shot at taking the next step in 2015.
