St. Louis Rams Pre-Draft Visits

facebooktwitterreddit

The St. Louis Rams have spent months grading prospects and putting together their draft board. The Senior Bowl and Combine are done, almost every college has held its Pro Day. The only thing remaining is possibly the most important, the official pre-draft visits.

General managers and coaches have been able to speak to players prior to this process, however, this is a time in which teams can get a more in depth visit with a particular player.

Each team can bring no more than 30 players to its facility, and no on-field testing is allowed, only blackboard work or written tests.

There are many factors that determine whether or not a team will draft a player, and obviously the pre-draft visits aren’t the deciding factor. However, if a team is on the edge about a player it could be that deciding factor.

In the scouting process, you never want to put too much stock in a certain area, but it that doesn’t make these visits any less important. As mentioned earlier, this is a chance for NFL teams to get to know a player on their terms.

If a team does bring in a player, it also means that they do have interest in that player. It doesn’t necessarily mean they will draft them, but it is a chance to see if they are a good fit for what the team wants to do.

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post Dispatch just released a list of the confirmed list of prospects that have visited Rams Park. Here’s a list, by position, of the confirmed pre-draft visits to Rams Park so far:
