Five Potential Picks for the St. Louis Rams
With two and a half days until the NFL draft gets underway in Chicago, the St. Louis Rams still have several different ways they could go with their first round pick.
I believe there are five choices the Rams will have at pick number 10. I will go on record and say that one of the five players I list will be the Rams’ pick come Thursday night.
I will rank the players from top to bottom, top being the most likely pick for the Rams’ to secure.
1) Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford (75% chance)
This is the most likely pick for me. The Rams have two needs in the first round. Offensive line help and a wide receiver. Andrus Peat is a guy that will come in and immediately start to help anchor second year running back Tre Mason as well as keep Nick Foles upright more times than not.
2) DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville ( 60% chance)
This is a player that has really grown on me in the coming weeks. Many believe that he and Kevin White are neck and neck as far as talent go per Todd Mcshay. Parker has all the physical tools to develop into a top-flight receiver and is a big target for quarterback Nick Foles. Kevin white will likely be off the board which is why I have Parker penciled in as the second highest chance of becoming a Ram in my opinion.
3) Ereck Flowers, OL, Miami (40% chance)
Flowers is a 6-foot-6, 330-pound freak who can start right away at guard or right tackle and can develop into the Rams’ left tackle of the future. He serves the dual purpose of immediately upgrading the run blocking. Flowers was mocked to the Giants in the NFL Nation Mock draft a day ago. Some believe that may be too early but the talent is obvious.
4) Kevin White, WR, West Virginia (25% chance)
It is clear the Rams need a number one caliber wide receiver. And White would be your guy if he is available at 10. Unfortunately, he most likely will be off the board. White could and will likely be taken by the Chicago Bears if not earlier. But, if for some miracle that White is still on the board at 10, the Rams will snatch him up without hesitation.
Brandon Scherff, OL, Iowa (20% chance)
Scherff if the best offensive lineman in this years draft. Which is why I have him as my least likely to be drafted by the Rams. One of the three lineman I have named will be selected by the New York Giants at pick number nine. You can almost pencil in Scherff in that spot if he isn’t drafted by the Jets or someone else. This would be a great pick up for the Rams. But, highly unlikely that the Giants pass on him.
