With the Rams’ move to Los Angeles, the spotlight will shine bright on the team. The Rams have struggled mightily in the past decade, failing to reach the postseason since 2004, when Marc Bulger was the starting QB of the team. Since then, the Rams have failed to have consistent QB play, leading to their struggles.

Last season, while Todd Gurley played out of his mind in his rookie year, when healthy, and Aaron Donald had one of the greatest seasons as a defensive linemen, the Rams’ failed to make the playoffs. This can be blamed on poor QB play. The Nick Foles experiment fizzled out early on, leading to Case Keenum ending the season for the team. The argument could be made that the inconsistent receiver and offensive line play led to this but Foles is simply not a great QB.
Now with no answer at QB, the Rams’ will have to fix this problem in the offseason. This upcoming draft, the Rams’ hold the 15th pick. This means they are extremely unlikely to draft Jared Goff, the QB out of California who is likely to go top five. Carson Wentz out of North Dakota State University is a possibility but he may also not make it to fifteen. However, no matter what happens, the Rams’ must draft their QB. A rumor has emerged that the Rams’ are interested in Peyton Manning if he decides to return to the NFL. That is a mistake.
This is not Manning of old. This season we have seen a Peyton Manning that is simply sup-par. Frankly Manning should not play after this season. A player like Manning should ride off into the sunset, Budweiser in hand, and retire a champ. The Rams signing Manning is a stone that should be left unturned. Carson Wentz out of NDSU would be a great pick. Although he does not come from a big school, Wentz is a winner, he has a big arm and can use his legs. He looks like a great NFL QB. If the Rams wish to return to glory in LA, Wentz is the way to go.

Wentz has the big arm and accuracy fans want to see in their QB. Coming in at 6’5 and 233 lbs, Wentz has phenomenal size and speed. The sole question with Wentz is can he handle the jump from FCS opponents to NFL level talent. However players like Steve McNair, Joe Flacco, and Tony Romo have made this jump and had great success. Players like Connor Cook, Paxton Lynch, and Christian Hackenburg are intriguing mid round options if the Rams decide to wait on their future QB, but this has not worked in the past. Wentz is the guy who can take the Rams to the next level. He and Gurley will take LA by storm if given the chance.
